WWW - 2024 Pickle Report Week 8

· 2 min read

With great jubilation we would like congratulate Doc Rivers and the Bucks on winning the 2nd nba cup. This is the 3rd award Doc has received aside from his 2008 championship with the celtics and coach of the year in 2000. For the first time in 12 years he was able to close out 3 series in a season.

  • Sabonis has been cleaning up on the glass this week, with a rocking 66 boards, he's even got a scatter 3 falling. Lets hope his free throw shooting woes are just a Christmas anomaly.

  • Jamal Murray is begging to show signs of life, despite having trouble getting his shot to fall, he's been a cross category contributor and the return of Aaron Gordon can only be good for him.

  • Norman Powell is shooting the lights out from 3 shooting 46%. The clippers have been sorely lacking a number 2 option with Kawhi banished to the shadow realm. Hopefully we can see another couple weeks of this level of production before big changes to the clippers roster.

  • With the offensive titan Dennis Schröder out of the way in Brooklyn Cameron Johnson has been taking a much more active role, he's been shooting 81% from the line on 7 attempts per game and throwing up an average of 23/5/5

The Sacramento Kings players came into this week with an advantage due to being the only team fielding a four game week. It was no surprise that they had 3 players in the top 3. But this week we had a triple threat scorer who lead the league in points and went 26/29 from the free throw line. This combined with contributing across assists, steals, 3s and a little bit of holiday allowed De'Aaron Fox just just squeeze past Sabonis 66 rebounds on his way to becoming the week 8 Bread and Butter Pick of the Week!
