WWW - Pickle Report Week 20

The consensus MVP Runner-up has been really making a mark for himself these last few weeks, with an overall 2nd in total value since the trade deadline. Joel Embiid has rounded out his game by realizing his true defensive potential. In his last 4 matches (vs non playoff bound teams) he has doubled his block rate at 2.8 per game. This in addition to netting 1.3 3pters on a nightly basis, hitting almost 13 fts per night and scoring a blistering 38.5ppg has given Joel the extra gumption to edge ahead of the young dynamos of Tyrese Haliburton and Brook Lopez. Could Embiid the seemingly healthy duo of Harden and Embiid lead the 76ers out of first round purgatory? Considering how bad the play in teams in the east are this year, the answer is a resounding.... maybe.

As we come to the close of the fantasy season it is with a heavy heart we would like to congratulate the 3 time "Bread and Butter Pick of the Week"

I’ve been playing basketball a lot longer than some of these people analyzing the game. I’m an actual genius when it comes to this game. If you ask me about basketball, I will talk all day. If you ask me about spacing at the 3:33 mark of the second quarter, I will gladly explain it. I'll tell you what plays worked, about adjustments we make. But when it comes to personal things, or comparing myself to my NBA brothers, like, 'Do you think you are better than this guy?' I'm out.

Some would say that Kyrie Irving's genius is misunderstood. Others would say dangerous. But we can all agree that since the Durant injury Kyrie has feasted on all that delicious usage.

A quick look and we can see that Irving is boosting his Shot attempts by 4 per game, assists by almost 2, and rebounds by 1.5. This has yielded an increased point yield at a minor impact on efficiency. This combined with a return to form of steal numbers and exceptionally low turnovers of the week give the enlightened one a rare flawless pickle where no category has been neglected on the path to greatness. While he no longer has his own shoe he has joined very elite company as the week 14 "Bread" and butter pick of the week

71 Points, that is the most points in a single game since Kobe in 2006. It's good enough for 8th in all time single game scoring and top 3 if you exclude Wilt. This single game performance of 71 pts on 7 3pts and 11 assists was enough to elevate an otherwise mediocre week into discussion for the top performer of the week. But this is no slight on Spida as he's continued to mount on his incredible shooting efficiency and 3 point shooting campaign. It looks like he is poised to raise the top 40 rut he's been locked into the last year. Since Joining the Cleveland Cavaliers he has increased he has shown 0.025% increase in both fg% and ft% over last year resulting in a 2.4 ppg increase. These seem like incremental increases but have been enough to to take bring him up to first round value.

71 points is really just incredible, and it is with that in mind we are happy to announch Donovan Mitchell as the Week 12 Bread and Butter Pick of the week.

Embiid continues his mvp tour this week, bowling through the Lakers, Rockets and Hornets. The man got 130 points this week. His hyper-efficient shooting combined with an incredible 27 FTA per game left the competition scratching their heads on how to stop the big man. In the past 30 days Embiid had only failed to get 30 points once, while boasting an impressive 1.5 steals per game.

While consistency is not evaluated, it is sure appreciated and we are proud to bestow upon Joel Embiid for the 2nd time this season the title of Bread and Butter Pick of the Week

Embiid comes out of nowhere to swat that pickle from SGAs hands at the last minute.
Embiid posted a simply silly performance yesterday night, where he dropped 59 points with 7 blocks with 19/28 shot attempts. This combined with 20/24 gave us just the silliest fantasy performance of the season. Embiid is seeing an uptick in usage due to injuries to James Harden and a string of weaker 3 point shooting from Tyrese Maxey.
While cutting through the Utah front court of Markkanen, Vanderbuilt, Olynyk and Walker Kesler while dishing out hot feeds, it was impossible to distinguish the big man from a season Mary Brown's Delivery Driver.

So topping off a solid week with a full on family feast, we are happy to declare Joel Embiid the bread and butter pick of the week.
