What a tremendous race this week. In NBA week three we saw an explosion of individual perfomances many of which were desterving of a pickle in the own right. We saw SGA average 35 a game at nearly 2 steals per match. Tyrese Maxey made his first major push to take the top honors by dropping 50 with 7 3pts and 3 blocks against the pacers. We even saw Embiid have a pretty standard Embiid week.

However all these pretenders only served to awaken a sleeping beast. After having won 3 pickles in each of previous seasons and losing out on his deserved regular season MVP the reigning finals mvp and champion has to remind everyone just how he's broken the game. By combining 2 35 point trible doubles with a 36 point 3 steal game the numbers pushed in his favor. A 21 rebound triple double set the tone for statistical domination. But managing a block per game and less than 3 turnovers per game. Who cares if this dude shot 600 from the line two games in a row.

At the end of week 3 we keep rolling out the hits and grant the one and only Nikola Jokic with his first of likely many pickles of this season, as our bread and butter "Pick of the week".

Only 2 weeks into the season we are beginning to see that it is transitioning to a big mans game. With block numbers in the stratosphere thanks to the latest class of rookies with no small contribution from both Chet and Wemby.

Last week we had our incumbent pickle holder make up for a weak performance with otherwise dominant stat lines. This week we have a series of dominant performances with a monster game that seals the freshness in. Starting the week on an efficient 26/19/5 and 27/10/3 with a combined 9 blocks and steals. This was followed up with 28/13/3 with 8/8 from the line and 7! blocks. Amazingly everyone in the league passed over this player at least once. Well, he's now the reigning back-to-back weekly pick. Bet you all feel like chumps.

Lets Fucking Go! Its a new season with new expectations. After a lengthy hiatus we are back reporting the next iteration of new generation of picklytics. With the recent addition of two new teams with five new managers will we see a dilution of pickle solution? Will one manager rise through the brine? Has DJ realized that he isn't in the league yet? These questions will be answered through the 19-week pickle eligibility period.

This week’s winner overcame a highly discussed 0/6 in the second half of the season opener. Usually this would be enough to eliminate any and all chances at taking the NBA's top weekly honor but when you follow it up with a pair of massive 30-point double doubles, capped off with a combined 11 steals and blocks on an astounding 21/39 fgs and 16/18 from the line. Can he pass or make 3s? Irrelevant. What was his stat line for the season opener? Garbage with 2 blocks and 4 dimes. I guess when the king takes a seat after 29 minutes the real ones step up.

The consensus MVP Runner-up has been really making a mark for himself these last few weeks, with an overall 2nd in total value since the trade deadline. Joel Embiid has rounded out his game by realizing his true defensive potential. In his last 4 matches (vs non playoff bound teams) he has doubled his block rate at 2.8 per game. This in addition to netting 1.3 3pters on a nightly basis, hitting almost 13 fts per night and scoring a blistering 38.5ppg has given Joel the extra gumption to edge ahead of the young dynamos of Tyrese Haliburton and Brook Lopez. Could Embiid the seemingly healthy duo of Harden and Embiid lead the 76ers out of first round purgatory? Considering how bad the play in teams in the east are this year, the answer is a resounding.... maybe.

As we come to the close of the fantasy season it is with a heavy heart we would like to congratulate the 3 time "Bread and Butter Pick of the Week"

Since walking away from Brooklyn moments from disaster James Harden has continued to produce first round value based on elite free throw shooting, and assists numbers. We've seen improvement of 4.1% in FG% that is matched by a dip in his Free Throws Attempted from the previous year, his points are down a little but so are his turnovers. Harden remains one of the best facilitators in the game and currently leads the league in per game assists and is ranked 4th in total despite missing 14 games earlier this season to a foot strain.

In the last week Harden has cranked it up a notch, making 31 of 32 free throws and hitting 5 3s in back to back games. He came just shy of a monster triple double against the bucks posting a 38/9/10 line a season high on points. In addition he managed 40 assists on only 15 turnovers, while contributing a over a Stock per game.

While his days of being a controversial figure in the NBA due to his antics are long past, he has been able to adapt his game, allowing him to be in extremely limited company of brooklyn nets players who requested a trade and won a pickle. In his 3rd attempt at the 3 point contest Dame Lillard finally won, scoring 3 balls from his money rack. And straight money Dame Dolla has been since returning in January. February was the portland franchises month, where he scored above 30 points 8 times, pulling nearly 40 points and 5 3pts per game. In addition, he missed a total of 4 free throws during his last 10 games as well. That's it, that's Dame. He provides middling assist and rebound value for a guard and does enjoy partaking in a scatter turnover without providing much in the terms of defensive stats. Oh, and he scored 71 points sunday night. Wow! thats got to have play in teams shaking in their boots.

Nicola Jokic has continued his MVP worthy campaign with another week averaging 26/13/10 while splashing in a block and a half a game. Really the Joker has no contemporaries so let's look at his week 16.
While he saw a loss of 3 boards and an assist per game, he added a 3ptm per game on 2 attempts as well as upping his blocks. The real tale is one of consistency. Jokic has hit at least 65% of his average performance EVERY night in the past 30 days. In contrast to the nba, picklytics doesn't experience voter fatigue and are happy to triple crown Nikola "sweet gherkin" Jokic as the Bread and Butter pick of the "Week".
